REAL JUMP OPS TRAINING IS WEATHER AND BUSINESS DEPENDANT
The C-182 is the work horse of the skydiving industry and the most widely used aircraft for skydiving operations – globally. Obtaining your Jump Pilot Training is the first step toward jump starting your commercial pilot career and getting your first job as a skydiving jump pilot.
Jump Pilot Academy™ 10-hours C-182 course generally encompasses of 4 hours ground / classroom training, orientation and prep for flight portion of the course. The JPA 5-hour C-182 Training includes:
- 4 hours of classroom training (Friday)
- 1 Dual Flight Hour Aircraft & Jump Door in-flight familiarization (Friday)
- 2 Dual Flight hours (1st Saturday)
- 2 Dual Flight hours (1st Sunday)
- 2.5 Solo Flight hours (2nd Friday)
- 2.5 Solo Flight hours (2nd Saturday)
- 2nd Sunday (weather / make up day)
- 10 hours total C-182 jump flight hours
- 20 jump flights in skydive configured C-182
- Course meets USPA recommendations and Insurance Requirements
- All training conducted during real skydive operations – not simulated!
This course is for commercial pilots who have the following:
- Have 400 + PIC hours
- Have 15 hours in C-182 Passenger Aircraft
- No jump flights
JPA helps with job placement upon couse completions and training. We work with 300 + skydiving centers in USA and Europe. JPA does not guarantee jobs!

SUMMER:
MAY 1 – SEP 30 – 6:00AM – 10:30AM
WINTER:
OCT 1 – APRIL 30 – 8:30AM – SUNSET
JPA Course entry requirements
- FAA Commercial Pilots License (CPL)
- High Performance Endorsement
- Complex Aircraft Endorsement
- FAA Class II Medical
- Min 400 PIC hours required
- Min 15 hours in C-182 Passenger aircraft
- Insurance approval prior to any training is required! (it takes 4 – 5 days after submitting paperwork)
- $125.00 Insurance Evaluation Application fee appiles
